It’s no secret: DIY versions of nearly all foods are tastier, fresher, cheaper, and healthier than their ready-made counterparts!
Some recipes, like salad dressings, take very little time to whip up. Others, like a finely crafted BBQ sauce, are a bit more time intensive. I used the Thai Peanut Satay Sauce (just the sauce part) for rice wraps I made and it was really good! But they took me a long time to make. The next day, I still had leftover sauce, so I made lazy-(wo)man’s rice wraps, by cooking some rice noodles and adding everything I had put in the wraps (lettuce, cucumbers, mint, basil, carrots, tofu, sauce…). Really, fast and delicious!

Sounds good! I love how diverse Peanut Sauce can be. I used it as a salad dressing the other day and a pizza sauce today 🙂

So many great condiment recipes here! thank you for including two of mine. Can’t wait to try some of the other ones.

Great round-up! When you make your own condiments, you get so much more control over ingredients and quality. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Yes! I love knowing exactly what goes into the food I’m eating. I think the awareness is key too. When you make ketchup, you see precisely how much sugar actually goes into it! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

The BBQ sauce though!!! Can not WAIT to try it 🙂

I know! I’m excited to try a homemade BBQ sauce recipe but I first have to make it through the Costco size bottle sitting in my fridge right now….
