food exposure checklist

Below you’ll find a printable checklist for exposing your child to the top 9 food allergens.

Some guidelines to follow when introducing new foods to your child

  1. Wait 2-3 days in between offering new foods. While this will not prevent an allergy, this spacing allows for easy identification of the offending food IF your child experiences a reaction.
  2. Introduce new foods earlier in the day. A reaction could be delayed or immediate. The more serious reactions will not be delayed by several hours. For this reason, you don’t want to  introduce a new food and then put your baby to bed. If a reaction occurs, you won’t see it until morning (if your baby sleeps through the night!).
